Replica Southern Tamandua Skull dogs social troops with complex hierarchiesThe southern tamandua, also known as the lesser anteater, is a tree climbing mammal native to South Americas forests and savannas. It has a long snout, powerful forelimbs with sharp claws, and a prehensile tail that helps it navigate the trees. Covered in coarse, often two toned fur, the tamandua feeds mainly on ants and termites, using its long, sticky tongue to extract them from nests.
